Zoe Thiessen - Sneak Back In

Zoe Thiessen is a singer/songwriter, guitarist and violinist based in Toronto. Her finely crafted songs always have a hint of the fairy tale about them, and she delivers them with a warm alto that has a timbre all its own. She released her first album ‘The Lives of Saints and Sinners’ in 2012, described by Penguin Eggs Magazine as ‘a sparkling debut.’ Now, after years of playing in a variety of bands ranging from French jazz to country folk, she has released her own sophomore EP ‘Sneak Back In’ in June, 2025.

It is a collection of six indie folk songs on the theme of alienation/reconciliation, that contains moments both heartbreakingly intimate and cathartically danceable. “I wrote these tunes in a period of darkness that gradually became pierced with hope. It was a joy to work with my good friend and producer Jessica Stuart, who understood the nuances of this trajectory, and burnished these tunes in a way that brings out both the lights and the darks.”
